Alien Registration Number (A #), if you have one, is your Personal Identification Number
it is a unique number assigned to you as to register you into a country ,and used for future references , such as a social security card , passport number ,driver's license

The Alien Registration Number is also known as a green card number. If you have any official documents from the BCIS, it is sometimes referred to as an ID number or applicant's number. It will begin with A- and followed by five to seven digits. Once an alien is issued this number it remains the same throughout their entire immigration process.

The Alien Registration Number, or A#, is a 9 digit number that is use by the old INS now CIS service to identify someone. An A# is issued to anybody that files a petition to immigrate into the U.S. or anybody that is deported from the U.S.

If you are filing the I-129f and you are talking about question 9 for your fiancÃ© A#, just leave it blank, because she has probably not being assign one. And for question 8b for you, if you are a Naturalize U.S. Citizen, you have to put it there. If you are a USC by naturalization look at the right hand of your certificate is should read something like this: A012 345 678. If you were born in the U.S. just leave it blank.

The I-129F is the Fiancee Visa application form. Once the CIS has accepted the complete application, the "A" number is assigned. It will be written on the top of the I-129F application. If you are just filling it out now, don't worry about it now as this step will come later. Once the process has begun, the "A" number will be used to refer to this person for the rest of his or her life.

If the form asks for the alien registration # for the person you are applying for, write N/A. If the requested registration # is for the petitioner, he/she can find it in the green card or 1-94. It starts with the letter 'A' followed by nine digits (There may be leading zeros that may be ommited). If the peritioner is already a US citizen, he may write N/A too.
