What is my "Country of residence"?

I am a Greek grad student in Canada.
I am here with a study permit.
I would like to go to the U.S. for Xmas
and I need a visa.
Now, I have a bunch of papers to fill in,
in one of them is states:

"List at two contacts in Applicant's country of residence who can verify information about applicant"..

Ok, forgive my english, but which is my country of residence, Greece or Canada?!

Your country of residence is Canada. You are legally "resident" there with a student visa. Are you sure you need a visa? Who told you that? Greece is a visa waiver country so unless there is something additional you aren't telling us, you shouldn't need a visa for a short visit.

Canada is your country of residence because that's where you currently reside.

Greek passport does not need visa to come to US. Greek is a visa waiver country
