I would like to know if italian citizens can have 2 nationalities? Because Im half thai and half italian so i would like to know if i can have both nationalities? I have an Italian passport and a thai id card now. I would like to know if i can get a thai passport?

If you have a Thai ID card, you should be able to get a passport. Contact their embassy.
Some countries allow dual citizenship for your lifetime. Others want you to declare one or the other when you become an adult. |

yes, you can have both nationalities. the first question is where were you born? most contries consider you a citizen if you were born there, no matter what the nationality of your parents. for example, i am an african american male that was born it italy to american parents. the fact that i was born in italy, made me an italian citizen at birth, the fact that i was born to 2 americans (my father being in the military) made me an american (dual citizenship)im not sure if the laws have changed or not, but in my day (i was born in 1965) each country had an established age in which dual citizens had to declare which country that they wanted to be a citizen of. in alot of cases, the age differs from country, but you had to follow the laws for the country that you were born in. there are exceptions to this rule, for instance (like in my case) if you decide to join the military of one of the two countries, which in that case you are declared a citizen of that country, if not then you must declare citizenship by the age mandated by the law of your birth country. in any case, you can still apply for dual citizenship. sorry for the long winded answer, hope this helps |
