Our soldiers are risking their lives in a war that really didn't have much to do with us.
Everytime I turn on the news a British soldier has been killed in Afghanistan.
It is disgusting that a soldier can't come back into his OWN country and get a room for the night.
Yet a foreigner can wonder in, get a council house and then receive our tax money.

the local public should tear the place apart. our soldiers don't deserve to be treated like that....you cant refuse a Muslim into a Hotel so how can it be right to refuse a soldier of the Queen? who the hell owns this country now days. I am amazed that the soldier went back to carry on fighting for the country. i would have just walked out of the army and said f*ck you. |

The hotel has since said that was not their policy. The employee who refused the room should be fired.
If it can be proven that it was their policy, then a class action suit should be filed. |

i don’t advocate any use of physical force to remedy this however the way to deal with this is for British people all over to BOYCOT that company and all of its subsidiaries

People should write letters of complaint.Even if the hotel has had trouble with soldiers in the past,this was one soldier on his own.
After what soldiers go through Management should be more understanding.Its a disgrace. |

The metro hotel has over the years had a lot of trouble from soldiers staying there.There is a massive barracks near by.There is a lot of violence and drinking in the town by soldiers.Who in their right mind would want to take that on |

Why is it in the news? Simply because there's SUSPICION abroad about why our troops are in the MidEast. If there WAS no suspicion about it, AND there were no reason for anyone to get stroppy with a Squaddie, then the item simply would not be newsworthy. Period.
Nothing should happen about it--except maybe wonder why you got to hear about it. |
