If you are being interviewed on a K-1 visa application, then the consul already knows you are going to get married in the US. But IF you are applying for a B2 visa then the consul will deny your application if you say you will go to the US to marry.**

It depends on what type of visa you are applying for.

nothing if your applying for a visitor visa. As the name suggest, you goal is to visit only and not stay forever....

If applying for a fiancee visa, then it is ok to mention it.
