What visa do I require to work in the U.S.?

I am planning on visiting the U.S. for a period of around a year and will need to fund my trip by working. What visa will I require to obtain work whilst I am there?

No you cannot work here unless an employer sponsors you. The visas are H-1B and TN (for Canadians only). For either of these you need to have a university degree or equivalent experience in certain fields. Basically in technology or a medical field.
