What would it take to create peace between Israel and Palestine ?

Removal of anything political or religious from the two groups - they are so similar but so different they (being human) will never see eye to eye unless they put their differences aside and consider their similarities although they would say they have no similarities.

Unfortuantely, human's don't tend to work like that as groups. The "mob mind" works on a very basic level and has a pack mentality - very patriotic / xenophobic / nationalistic. Humans in a group tend to split into "tribes" and tend towards wanting to destroy anything "different" - it could be nationality, colour, religion, politics, the clothes you wear, the wrong colour hair - anything that doesn't "fit" (watch children in a playground to see it in its basic form).

It's only individuals who can change things but that takes a great deal of bravery and a change in mindset. The catholics and protestants of Ireland are a bit like that - many get on very well with each other - some even in mixed marriages - but if you get a pack of either lot together, the mob mind takes over and the differences are exacerbated.

For the good of the world in general, I hope the world starts to ignore its differences and welcome the similarities. Anyone prepared to work for the betterment of themselves, others and the planet deserves respect no matter what colour, creed or religion.

All our problems are sparked by religion, race and politics. There's is religion. You can't do anything about that.

Both sides renouncing violence as a means to achieve an end.
