We say THE Philippines when we are asked which country are we from. The formal name for the Philippines is the Republic of the Philippines.

We use Philippine to describe things. It is an adjective. Ex. what kind of mangoes are these? Philippine mangoes.

Philippine Air is one of the monickers of the Philippine Airlines. At times it is called PAL or Philippine Air.
