Where to stay in Manila near the Us embassy on a budget.?

My family(me, my hubby, my sister and my 3 kids) will be going to manila on Oct 18 and we don't know anybody there. Where can we stay for a week on a tight budget? I search the net but i get confused.

During my interview few years back I stayed in Boulevard Mansion at Roxas Boulevard.It's not as near to the Embassy like the Bayview Park but it was more affordable and economical for me.It's about 2-3 blocks away.I was able to get a studio type room with its own kitchen and den for P1,700.You can get a bigger room for all of you and you can cook your meals.I just walked going to/from the Embassy but you can also take a short ride in a taxi if your kids doesn't want to walk.

try BAYVIEW PARK HOTEL. its the one sitting in front of us embassy...i think the rate is 86 dollars for a standard room a night.dont fret my friend...there are tons of cheap hotels near that area...ranging from 1500 a day to 5000..

if you cant afford that...try searching for hotels near united nations and kalaw STREET manila..they're the two streets that are in front of us embassy

I believe the other answer meant 1500 peso's not dollars. the dollar is 47 peso's to the dollar, there are nice hotels across from the embassy there is much to see in Manila and many other of the islands, it would be nice to get out to some of the smaller islands the people are generally friendly and a lot speak english. so will try to rip you off but most are honest. The Bay view has several prices depending on what you want but the are cheep er places you won't be able to drive there so you will have to use a taxi or Jeepnees's that's the cheapest way to travel however be careful it is not safe in some of those areas.
