Congress authorized it as part of the overall Iraq war budget, and there's about as much oversight on that as there is for ANY government spending.
And who in the hell do you THINK is paying for it? |

This amount does not compare to the cost of doing war. U.S. Monthly Spending in Iraq - $12 billion in 2008. U.S. Spending per Second - $5,000 in 2008 (per Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on May 5, 2008). Spent & Approved War-Spending - About $800 billion of US taxpayers' funds spent or approved for spending through mid-2009.
There must be very nice toilets in that embassy. |

Let's see you want to know whose is justifying this expense. Well, no one of course. These guys waste money like there is no tomorrow. In the next few months though this will seem like a quaint little purchase.
And of course we're paying for it. |
