Hurricane Katrina was a natural catastrophy that troked the southern part of the United Staes of America;specifically the state of Texas.Most of the citizens living in this state were rendered homeless.There was an out cry from the victims and the world at large on why it took the government long to rescue the situation;or why did the government not forsaw the dangers of the approaching hurricane, being endowed with modern technological warning devices.Most of these victims don,t no where to go to.Some of them patch up with friends and relatives while others in deserted ghetoes and caravans at the outskirt of their towns.I will like to know the actions taken by the government so far to see that these victims are actually treated well.Please send your answers through my e-mail address;olingesfr2000@yahoo.com Thanks

Reaction was not slow. Implementation and action was slow. Politics got in the way of many things when it should not have.
Mistakes were made, but the good thing is that change will result because of it. It must be remembered though that mistakes happen in dealing with ANY crisis. I don't care if it is government, business, or personal. Nothing can be predicted 100%. Influence and control within organizations is also never 100%.
I do not think that there was any conspiracy though. Nothing against African Americans, or New Orleans itself. There was no ill will by Bush, nor by the administration, nor by FEMA, nor by local authorities. Stuff just went wrong. |
