congress did not vote to join the league of nations - Wilson was the one that put it together, but congress did not agree.

US then was not in between the Great War for a long time untill Germany Marines hit the Ships that just passing by, US was fully sick of Europe thingy and United Nation forced US Govt: to help Britian and France as Britian and France would help the other countries except Germany and US Govt: then had good business with Germany as GErmany was the only country in world to produse many new things in world as they invented tank in first world war.

After the Great War, The US were sick of anything dealing with Europe.
The last thing this country wanted was to start an organization dealing with other countries' problems.

The reason is: The United Nations did not exist before WW1. The League of Nations was dismantled in detaunt after WW1; peace across Europe, no longer need.
