The U.S. regected this proposal yesterday at the U.N. The proposal was brought forth by Qatar and Indonesia.

Because The United States gave the Jericho missiles to Israel. And Khalilzad is the new fall guy at the U.N. After a week or so.. He understands Our side and theirs. Well he is one of them, just with one of our passports.
I saw that hearing, they will confirm him. And leave this deal up to the new guy.(Basically we wont do anything with this guy leaving in a week), We will wait untill the Senate confirms this Afghan.
On another note, Qatar is fast becoming a great friend of our country. |

The first answer was mostly right, I think.
You're not really asking the right question, because you're assuming that a U.N. proposal could bring about a nuclear-free Middle East. It could never do so.
Second, you're assuming that because Wolff voted against the resolution, he is therefore in favor of having a nuclearized M.E. I doubt he is -- he just voted against a proposal that is unrealistic and doubtlessly put forth by Qatar and Indonesia either to please their Muslim constituencies, their fellow Muslim countries, or both.
Third, Wolff's preferences really have nothing to do with it either way -- he was acting on the instructions of his employer, the U.S. Government. |

1) It's unenforceable.
2) It would leave the rogues and lawbreakers with nukes, but putting an ally of the U.S., Israel, in a difficult position.
A better question would be to ask about the motives of 2 Muslim countries proposing this... hmmmm, why would they do that?..... |
