Not Always
If you get a job with private sector, then attested original educational certificate is required for getting approval from Ministry of Labour
If the job is from Government company, then it is a direct Immigration Visa and hence educational certificate is not required. However the government company may ask for the original for their own verification purpose. My experience with Govt. companies in UAE is that they generally do not ask for Original certificate. |

when my brother-in-law went to work in KSA, his employer handled all the government paperwork to get his visa. in fact, it was the only way to get the visa at all.
still, the documents required were all certified copies of the originals, not the actual originals. |
