We paid $170 but it changed to $455.He said that the package came in with a receipt and a note saying we just need to pay the remaining and resend the exact same package containing the papers. Does that mean that we are in queue already or does that mean we got our request out of the queue and back to where we started? I am worried that we will have to wait for another receipt and will push out the wedding because of this.

No, you're still at square 1. Until USCIS has the money in hand, your petition isn't going anywhere, which is why it was returned. As you can see, they didn't simply ask you to send a check. Always a bit risky to set a wedding date with fiance visas. It can, and usually does take USCIS months to process and approve the petiiton, and then, of course, it has to go to the embassy overseas. Once it arrives there, your fiance will be contacted and will need to fill out more forms, obtain police clearance from his country of residence and any other countries he may have lived in since the age of 14, and get an immigration physical. Once he does all that and informs the embassy, then he'll get an interview appointment date. Other things can intervene as well, so there's no way to predict anything like a precise date on when he'll be able to travel to the US. |

no processing is ever done until you paid the whole fee, therefore, you are not anywhere yet,
why did you pay 170 $? i have never heard of that price before? i have always seen at 455 $ or at least this year... if you are resending the same package, you will start back at the bottom,
normal, applications are not considered without correct fees included, too many applications in wait.as for your wedding date? wait until all is finished with the process, to set a date, for it may take a long time before receiving the approval. |
