What is offensive about it ? It's simply a shortening of Pakistan just like people call the British Brits or the Scotish Scots come on get a grip :) |

For years the Brits have abbreviated the name of nationalities.
Aussies for Australians
Chinky for Chinese
Iti for Italians
Poles for Polish.
In fact if you ever watched Star Trek then you would note that the engineer who was Scottish was called Scottie.
The Americans were always called Yanks and in turn they, and the Australians call us Limeys.
Calling the French Frogs is an old one, they respond by calling us Roast Beefs.
The Irish are often called Mick or Paddy, even Spud.
None of the nationals of any of these countries have ever found the reference offensive, nor did they make a complaint.
Yet, as soon as the Pakistanis started to live in the UK they have complained about everything (even how little they get from the benefits we give them).
Why on earth should we treat you differently? Be proud of your origins like all the other Nationals we are happy to absorb into our community. |

Point 1) - "Paki" is an abbreviation of Pakistani, as is Brit for British, Afghan for Afghanistan, Scot for Scottish etc etc. the Fact that it became a racial word was again contributed to the National Front, Combat 18 and the BNP (all have now joined force, to make a political party). Just like the Union Flag and Cross of St George is now officiated with them. Personally you Pakistanis play into their hands by saying it offends you, cause they want it to...
Point 2) - I think being called "Paki" is the last of your worries, I don't know how old you are, but "Retarded" springs to mind, you grammar is appalling, did you even attend school currently or in the past, cause this ain't a txt messaging service.... |

It's a term of endearment that we use for people we especially like. Same as Frogs for French, Ities for Italians and Sheep Shaggers for Welsh. |

Are you telling me that Pakistanis don't have a derogatory word for the white british people?
I find that very hard to believe. |
|

No name.
 |
Offended by a shortened word? Paki is just short for Pakistani.
Only political correctness would tell you it's an offensive word.
Brit - British
Yank - American
Kiwi - New Zealander
Aussie - Australian
These people aren't complaining about the nickname for their nationality. |
