can i pick-up my friends visa card?

my Friend is in brazil at the moment and is waiting for her visa from brazilian consulate in london, can i take her documents in, or will she have to come back to do it herself, it`s very expensive airfare and she already has her married brazilian partner in brazil with her. please help!

Puzzled by the question.
Normally when a Visa application is being processed, you need to give your Passport in.
So how did your friend travel.
Likewise, a visa normally goes into a passport even if there is a seperate residents card.
MOST importantly,
- if you apply from outside the country, you need to 'enter' the country with that visa/card
and you are the entering the country under those conditions
At present she will be entered as a visitor.. .and have a limit of stay.
If she wants to stay in the country she needs to make an application in the country to change status BUT usually this is not possible for most countries.
Basically, she made a choice to go for a 'hoilday' /do a limited stay Visitors status entry.
She should have waited for the full visa entry.
Therefore she made a promise to leave that country before her limit of stay ended.
If she does not, she becomes and overstayer.. and may be refused permission to re-enter (visa or no visa, and any visa she has may be cancelled)
She has no choice but to leave the country and re-enter with her correct visa.
And the consulate will need to see her/her passport first.
If she tries to post her pasport to you, the consulate will do a check if she left brazil before comming back to the UK (to prevent postal applications).
I hope for her sake, that it is not against the rules to enter Brazil while she has another application in processing ! |
