2010 H1-B Visa Program?

Is there going to be a H1-B program this year? My employer told me that they won't be filing any H1-B this year because it will be difficult to justify in light of US unemployment. Has anybody heard about this or a cancellation? Pleas include any link.

It hasn't been cancelled by the government. However, any number of employers are having second thoughts at the moment.

There will indeed be a program and the demand for visas will be lower than before. This, essentially everyone who applies April 1 should get a visa.

There is only extra paperwork if the job is being funded through federal money.

Just because a company files for h1-b's doesn't mean they will actually use them. don't worry - congress has done nothing to change this. But current H1-B visa holders are leaving this country.

Employers now dont like or want to file under H1B. If you are an Indian or Filipino then you still have very high chance of getting H1B.Employers who belong to Indian and Filipino community are still actively filling H1B and mostly they get H1B and green cards too.
