2nd student visa interview for the USA. chances of success?

- in December i was denied (form 214b) on the grounds of insufficient funding, and lack of proof to return home to Britain upon completion. How can I strengthen my application? I am thinking may be a written letter from a parent re-asserting my goal to return after my studies? Or is that too far? FYI I go for the interview in July with sufficient funds for my program.

It is your burden of proof so bring in all the evidence you can think of. Did you make the officer believe in someway that you intended to immigrate to the US instead of just study there? As far as a letter from your parents being "too far," I'd say that nothing is too far. My hubby is an immigrations officer...he has never once told me that someone brought too much stuff. If they bring tons of evidence, he's like, "Those people were legitimate! They really had their stuff together."
BTW, most Americans don't know laws of immigration. It's not something that the general public has any reason to know. Good luck to you! |

I would think the big reason for denial was your funding. Did they tell you how much money you would need? Education and living expenses here can be between $50,000. and $100,000. per year depending on which college has accepted you.
You are also not allowed to work, except part time for the college. That is it.
A letter from your parents might help, but not sure.
