I remember going to work and seing the towers crumble. It was horrifying. My family in Europe was watching TV and crying. Such barbarism is abhoring.
I also remember that all terrorists were LEGAL and no illegal is a terrorist.
It seems that Middle Easterners easily get visa and citizenship, while we, Eastern Europeans have to hope for amnesty... |

I remember how quickly we have forgotten, and now don't even realize why we went to war in the first place. I find it sad that we have forgotten such a tragic thing in the history of our country in 5 years. |

I remember, turning on the t.v. that morning right after the first plane had hit. I went into the kitchen to make coffee, not realizing what i had just seen. When i went back and started watching again i still didn't know what i was watching, and then the second plane hit! I remember thinking this can't be real! I don't think i'll ever forget that day. |

All the things you listed but I also remember how angry I felt. I remember thinking about how much good the US has done around the world with out thought of repayment. I also think that it is sad that people are so quick to put down our military when they are quite possibly doing the hardest job in the world. |

i remember the fear we all felt. i also remember how quiet the skies were days later. and i remember making an effort to just be outside, thinking that one day i would not be able to just sit outside and enjoy breathing fresh air. but you are right, we forget. unfortunately. |

I was standing in front of the World Trade Center when the first plane went in & remember all of the people running down Broadway. I also remember all of the paperplates, & photographs floating through the air and littering the East River following the collapse of the towers. Those plates & photos were from closets and desktops of the former World Trade Center offices. I also remember 6 lanes filled with business people running through black clouds of dust as they were running down the FDR (a highway that goes up the East side of Manhattan). I recall all the young men running from the NY Stock Exchange heading for the East River to escape a possible other attack. I remember many things. . .I also remember the stench of the smoke from those Towers which burned until late November! On the brighter side. . .I recall just how orderly the evacuation was and just how incredibly respectful New Yorkers were to each other. |

How dark the day seemed. How everything seemed silent in our school. How everyone was scared. How everyone was comforted. |

I was watching the 3 Stooges as I do each and every morning when I decided to flip the channel over to Matt Lauer and Katie Couric. They had looks on their faces that I had never seen before. Then they went to a shot of the WTC with a smokey gaping hole in it. |

Being at work with no radio, no television, just customers and other employees trickling in, feeding us tidbits of info. And wondering what in the hell was going on. |

I remember watching the news. I remember some Muslims living near where I lived at the time burning an American flag in celebration. I remember talking to my mother on the phone and she was scared and angry. |

The absolute horror of what I was watching and knowing it wasn't a movie, it was really happening. Still like everyone else have those images in my head. It will never go away. |

I remember I was at college that day and everybody was listening to the news in their cars or watching the news at the cafeteria... no class for the rest of the day!! It was really shocking. |

I remember hearing on the radio that the World Trade Centers were gone and actually thinking it was a 'War of the Worlds' type spoof.
I remember my father calling to say he was driving home to Colorado from Detroit with a new car. He said he had tears in his eyes because in every small mid-west town he drove through almost every house and building was flying the Stars and Stripes.
I remember my four year old drawing a far too accurate picture of a burning plane impaled in one of two towers, and deciding it was time to turn off the TV.
Bless our military, indeed. |

I was at my Aunt's house, waiting for a ride to school. I was a Junior in HS, and we watched it on TV all day, over and over. I think I will always remember that day. |
