A sponsor in paper only to help bring wife over?

I had to take time off work to care for my elderly parents who cant drive anymore & needed help with everything around the house. Im in the process of bringing over my Chinese wife everything is paid for & i will not need or ask for any government assistance that is the reason of having outside sponsor. Im also in the process of re-entering the workforce soon. Will having a sponsor help her with the process?

You will need a co sponsor if you are not working as you need to prove you are earning enough to support her. This is not in name only as the co sponsor will be held liable by the government should your wife become a public charge at any time. The liability will remain in force until your wife has 40 quarters of work to her credit, until your wife becomes a US citizen or until she leaves the country.

a co-sponsor is not just on paper, it is a legal procedure in case you failed to support her, and your co-sponsor will be liable for her .
