AUTHORITY TO RETURN TO CANADA?

My boyfriend came to Canada from Mexico when he was ten years old. His family put forward a refugee claim that was denied, and he was deported from Canada when he was 22. We've been in a relationship since our first summer out of high school, and I'm now pregnant with our first child. In order to return to Canada, he needs an "Authority to Return to Canada". Can anyone provide any information on the success rate of this kind of application? Also, with the processing time being between 9 and 12 months, is there any faster route we could be looking at, since we'd like to be together for the birth of our first born? Any help would be MUCH appreciated! Thank you in advance!

RESPONSE TO MAMOUR: We've considered the option of me going to Mexico, but the altitude difference seems to hit me a little harder than most people, even before the pregnancy. The last time I ended up having to seek medical attention while I was there and be put on medication due to my increased blood pressure, so we're not certain we should risk it with the pregnancy.

i doubt that he will be allowed re-entry into Canada, the rate of succes for ARC is very low.

By Guidy Mamann: A recent Federal Court case confirms that the immigration department is deliberately making it much more difficult for qualified immigrants who were deported from Canada to ever return here legally.

The departmentâ€™s approach is intended to discourage illegal immigration and to foster greater respect for our immigration laws. However, this new approach will only achieve the exact opposite effect.

# When a person is subject to a deportation order they can never return here unless they first obtain an Authorization to Return to Canada (â€œARCâ€) in addition to obtaining whatever temporary or permanent visa they may require. It has been my experience that if a visa officer concludes that an applicant otherwise qualifies for an immigrant visa (i.e. they have the necessary points etc. to qualify for our skilled worker category) then an ARC would be issued so that the person can be landed.

In over 21 years of practice I canâ€™t remember even a handful of individuals, if that, who qualified for permanent immigration but who were denied an ARC. Until just recently, I have never been asked by a visa officer for legal submissions to support a request for an ARC. Provided that the client pays the $400.00 government fee and provided that there is no criminal or medical inadmissibility issues involved, getting an ARC has always been fairly routine business.

this looks like your only option after your boyfriend was deported, usually there is a long ban for people who have been deported,for just any country in the world,

wait to the child is born and go to Mexico with the child, it will not be soon that he can re-enter Canada.

Due to their more complex nature, applications for Authorization to return to Canada cannot be completed the same day when submitted in person.

Normal processing time is 9 to 12 months

Before i lived in Canada. Im refugge then refused back to mexico but i have boyfriend from Canadian wanna marriage with me then i can return in Canada? I know process first ARC Then doing? Please let me know information. Thank you
