Ok here is my weird situation:
My mom (Green Card holder) applied for me on Feb. 2004 and I got my approved I-130 on 2008, since she is a green card holder i am on a huge waiting list but she is also about to get her citizenship which will put me into a faster track. I am also about to get married and I dont want to get my green card through my wife. My question is if I wait until my mom gets her citizenship and then i get married and some how my marriage doesn't work in 2 years can i still be eligible through my mom?

Not all green card owners are Mexican, in fact very few are.
I came to the U.S. in 1959 from England and had a green card.
If you are unsure your marriage will not work then DON"T get married. |

Once you apply for a certain status, you can't change it. You'll have to stay on the app with your mom.

If your mom becomes a US citizen before you get married, then I would go that route if prefer not to go through your wife. The problem with going with one process then changing to another would involve more paper work and time. Your best bet would be to find out from an immigration lawyer which would be your better option. |
