read somewhere you have to touchdown within 3 months of getting it?

yes it is 3 months i know this for a fact because i asked them, which is why i asked my visa to be dated later .... like i applied 10 march and got it approved today and the date says valid 1 jun 09 - whatever

It should have been in your letter from the Home Office, but when I got mine you had to arrive in the UK within 90 days from issuance of the visa or it became invalid

it doesn't matter when u land in UK now. But to renew ur Tier 1 you must be paying TAX for 18 months prior to renewal, otherwise you cannot renew it. But for your own sake the earlier you go the better it is.
