Depends on why he was deported and if he is considered a visa risk.
If he has a felony, or a criminal record in any other country he is banned for life. If he overstayed his visa, he might have a permanent ban. If he owes money in the US(credit cards, parking tickets, etc) he is banned permanently until he pays those |

10 years is the normal ban. However, if there was something extra involved, such as a criminal conviction, the ban will almost certainly be for the rest of the person's life. |
