I agree with you... Most of us need to clean up our own "HOUSE" before cleaning someone elses.
I am in agreement with many that we must control our borders. It is a national security issue and the drug lords freely pass drugs into the United States. Okay but we have problems on both sides of the "fence". The "fence" will not stop the corruption of US Officials who allow these drugs to be passed. These same officials will have a key to open that "border fence" to admit the drug lords but will not permit the passage of the poor illegal immigrant that came to clean up your buildings instead of blowing them up. Why do so many drugs come into the United States? The answer supply and demand. We need these illegal immigrants to work the jobs that our so drug addicted nation will not fill. WE NEED COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM. We do not need to repair the damaged levy by placing our finger in the hole. We need to repair the entire levy. DON'T let these politicians keep you ignorant....This whole smoke screen/border fence is just a ploy to get them reelected. These same politicians know that we need this "illegal" work force just as much as they need us.....Think.....if it were not true would it have taken them so long to do something about it. NO it wouldn't have. The 911 incident caused us all to think....but did the illegal alien mastermind that event. No, he didn't so why treat him or her as if they did do it. STOP RACISM. NO all Illegals are not criminals BUT one did kill a cop it may not be little girls but to me killing is killing and there have been plenty of Illegals that have done just that. Kill. I know many though that are really cool and own business like body shops and do really good work without bothering anybody. I guess it all about how you look at it.

Here are some facts for you to ponder while you pull your head out of your a$$.

10-20 million illegal criminal aliens presently roam the U.S.The number of illegal criminal aliens doubled in the 1990's.

Illegal aliens constitute over 25% of the federal prison population. In some areas of the country, 12 % of felonies, 25% of burglaries and 34% of thefts are committed by illegal aliens.

In Los Angeles alone, 95% of all outstanding warrants for homicide ( which total approximately 1,200-1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to 2/3 of all fugitive felony warrants ( approximately 17,000) are for illegal aliens.

In fiscal year 1999, incarceration expenses for incarcerating illegal aliens in state & local jails in Pennsylvania alone cost taxpayers $13.3 million. It has been established that the nationwide costs to states and localties for housing illegal criminal aliens is about $2 billion per year.

Approximately 400,000 illegal aliens who have committed crimes and have been given a deportation order are at large in the U.S.and their whereabouts unknown.

In May 2002, federal agents arrested 2 Egyptian nationals for trying to smuggle illegal Middle Eastern immigrants into New Jersey via Mexico.

In December 2002, Saul Morales-Garcia, an illegal alien, shot La Vegas police officer Enrique Hernandez 6 times following a foot chase.Garcia had previously been deported but again illegally re-entered the U.S.

In June 2004, Enrique Sousa Alvarez, an illegal alien, was arrested in San Jose, California and charged with violently kidnapping a 9 year old girl from her home, holding her captive for 3 days, and repeatedly raped her before releasing her at a convenience store parking lot.

In August 2004, Adrienne George Camacho, an illegal alien with a criminal record that included 4 previous felony convictions, and who had been deported from the U.S., sneaked back into California and shot and killed police officer Tony Zeppetella. Office Zeppetella left behind a wife and infant child.

Illegal alien Walter Alexander Sorto was repeatedly picked up for driver's license violations and for driving without insurance. Houston police, however, were barred from reporting his illegal residency status to federal authorities by "sanctuary policies". In March 2004, Sorto and a companion abducted, raped and killed 3 Houston women.

WASHINGTON (August 25, 2004) â€” A new study from the Center for Immigration Studies is one of the first to estimate the impact of illegal immigration on the federal budget. Based on Census Bureau data, the study estimates that households headed by illegal aliens used $10 billion more in government services than they paid in taxes in 2002. These figures are only for the federal government; costs at the state and local level are also likely to be significant. The study also finds that if illegals were given amnesty, the fiscal deficit at the federal level would grow to nearly $29 billion.
Among the findings:

Illegal alien households are estimated to use $2,700 a year more in services than they pay in taxes, creating a total fiscal burden of nearly $10.4 billion on the federal budget in 2002.

Among the largest federal costs: Medicaid ($2.5 billion); treatment for the uninsured ($2.2 billion); food assistance programs ($1.9 billion); the federal prison and court systems ($1.6 billion); and federal aid to schools ($1.4 billion).

If illegal aliens were legalized and began to pay taxes and use services like legal immigrants with the same education levels, the estimated annual fiscal deficit at the federal level would increase from $2,700 per household to nearly $7,700, for a total federal deficit of $29 billion.

With nearly two-third of illegals lacking a high school diploma, the primary reason they create a fiscal deficit is their low education levels and resulting low incomes and tax payments â€” not their legal status or their unwillingness to work.

Amnesty increases costs because illegals would still be largely unskilled, and thus their tax payments would continue to be very modest, but once legalized they would be able to access many more government services.

The fact that legal immigrants with little schooling are a fiscal drain on federal coffers does not mean that legal immigrants overall are a drain. Many legal immigrants are highly skilled.

Because many of the costs are due to their U.S.-born children, who are awarded U.S. citizenship at birth, barring illegals themselves from federal programs will not significantly reduce costs.

Although they create a net drain on the federal government, the average illegal household pays more than $4,200 a year in federal taxes, for a total of nearly $16 billion.

However, they impose annual costs of more than $26.3 billion, or about $6,950 per illegal household.

About 43 percent, or $7 billion, of the federal taxes illegals pay go to Social Security and Medicare.

Employers do not see the costs associated with less-educated immigrant workers because the costs are spread out among all taxpayers.

Why Legalization Is So Costly.

Costs rise unavoidably because amnesty will not change the low education levels of illegal aliens or the fact that the American economy offers such workers very limited opportunities, regardless of legal status. The vast majority of illegal aliens will continue to have very low incomes, and make very modest tax payments. However, legal status would allow them to use many more programs. We know that costs would rise dramatically because legal immigrants with the same levels of education make extensive use of public services. Thus, even though we estimate that average tax payments would rise by 77 percent, we also find that costs would rise 117 percent. To understand why this happens, it is helpful to consider a program like the Earned Income Tax Credit, which pays cash to low-income workers. Illegals currently account for only 1.5 percent of the program's total costs, but if they were legalized their use of the program would grow tenfold because with legal status they would no longer need stolen or bogus Social Security numbers to get the credit. This dramatic rise in costs is not due to laziness on the part of immigrants. In fact, only those who work receive the EITC. The dramatic rise in costs simply reflects the low educational attainment of illegals and their resulting low incomes.

If Illegals Stay, So Will The Costs.

To the extent that policy makers have considered the fiscal costs of illegal immigration, they have generally tried to reduce the costs while allowing illegals to remain. But this strategy has not been effective because the average illegal already receives less than half as much in services from the federal government as do other households. Moreover, many of the costs are due to their U.S.-born children, who are awarded American citizenship at birth under current law. Other programs are simply too politically sensitive to cut, such as the Women, Infants and Children nutrition program. And others costs are unavoidable, such as incarcerating illegals who have been convicted of crimes. Conversely, enforcing immigration laws is both popular with voters and administratively more feasible. There are really only two options: either we begin to enforce the law, significantly reducing the number of illegals in the country, or we accept the costs created by the presence of a large pool of unskilled workers.

Results Similar To Other Studies:

A 1997 report by the National Research Council (NRC) on the fiscal impact of immigrants concluded that education levels and resulting income are the primary determinants of tax payments and service use, which is also a central finding of this report. The results of this study closely match the findings of a 1998 Urban Institute study. Our estimated average tax payment for illegal households in New York State is almost identical to that of the Urban Institute, when adjusted for inflation. The results of this study are also buttressed by an analysis of illegal alien tax returns done by the Inspector General's Office of the Department of Treasury in 2004, which found that about half had no federal income tax liability, very similar to our findings of 45 percent.

What does illegal mean? (definition-not according to or authorized by law : UNLAWFUL , ILLICIT ; also : not sanctioned by official rules)

All people who kill or molest children and do all forms of criminal acts are criminal even if they are citizens.

It's not a matter of one or the other. It IS a matter of controlling all forms of criminal activity to the best of our ability...including booting the illegal alien population out and back to where the came from.

How about the man that killed his girlfriend pulling her behind a car.....or the illegal that killed the cop in Houston.....or the illegal driving the hurricane evacuees that didn't have the sense to stop for a flat tire killing 23 elderly....There are many, many more examples.
We will prosecute our own for breaking the law..it doesn't concern you, only Americans!

The problem is that when "illegal" immigrants commit a crime, they are hard to trace because there is no paper trace on them whatsoever. I have worked in the legal system for many years and yes, there are criminals in both the citizens of this country and the illegals coming in. But it would be difficult to trace someone who is here illegally. We do need to clean up our act, yes, but we also need to control those from other countries who come here to commit crimes. And being in this field and in the community I live around, I have seen many barbaric crimes commited by our citizens and many many by illegals. We had a serial rapist who is an illegal that was raping young girls in this community for a number of years, young girls 9, 11, 13, then it went to old ladies, 70, 80. I do believe immigrants come in just to have a better life, but of course, there are always those who come to exploit the situation of being illegal.

There are criminals in all races. Actually, though, percentage-wise, illegals are disproportionately criminal (not counting the original crime of illegal entry). You might want to do some research before you open up this topic again.

That's an odd question, since "illegal" and "criminal" mean the same thing.

A person who breaks a law is called a criminal. That's what the word means. Therefore, if you do something illegal (something against the law, such as coming into the country without permission), then you are by definition a criminal.
