Well probably u know it already that as American no matter where in the world u live u must have to declare ur TAXES in USA. So thats the issue u'd be facing in future.
If u'd be working in UK as full time employee then, of course u'd be paying TAX in UK. If u are working as a non-resident contract then u can pay TAX back in USA through ur ltd. company but for that u can open ltd. company in USA and maintain the accounts there. But this is difficult method & u'd have serious problems getting work permit to get work in UK. |

U.S. Citizens have to pay federal taxes, no matter why they live. And if you live in another country.. you also have to pay taxes there. |

The only way you get work in the UK if you get an offer of a job. Or an American company transfer you to their UK base |

The IRS has some great resources on this issue at www.irs.gov see international issues. You maynot have to pay taxes depending on what you do and your legal status there. you wil pay uk taxes and they can be quite higher than the US. |
