I have friends who are legal immigrants - they are both doctors. We need more legal immigrants like them. They recently went through the ceremony that officially made them American citizens. They were very emotional because they love, love, love America. Please send more like this, but keep the illegal cheaters who want to destroy our country and care nothing about the rule of law. |

Most of us are legal immigrants. I have no problem with anyone coming to this country legally. But I am getting a little tired of our government refusing to hire American citizens, instead opting to immigrate people here from other countries. |

Well, being a "legal immigrant" myself who is a US citizen (I am naturalized), I don't have a problem with it and think that increasing diversity is important to keep America what it is. My husband is also a legal immigrant (permanent resident). Many immigrant come with much to offer - education, etc...an we should encourage immigration of people who will contribute to our society (AND their families)! |

I would hope that any legal immigrant that does come here, makes the best they can of themselves and becomes acustom to becoming an American and assimilate into the American way of life, (that also means if anyone doesnt speak english or know how to, they should learn and want and try to learn if they are coming here, because our country is a english speaking nation 1st and foremost |

LEGAL Immigrants? I think they are very brave and upstanding people. Leaving your native country and learning to live among people with a totally different culture has to be a little intimidating. I have nothing but the utmost respect for these legal immigrants. They enrich our own lives and culture by being here. |

I'm fine for the most part... I don't begrudge THEM, they are here legally, my wife and first two daughters are legal immigrants, as are two of my employees.
What DOES chap my hide, is the HB-1 visa program. We can't seem in some areas to teach our children / teens / young adults to fill certain jobs ?? The Government would be better serving "we the people" by NOT importing cheap labor to satisfy the computer and software industry, but rather getting CITIZENS trained to fill those jobs. |

ask the NATIVE AMERICANS the same question about the pilgrims. the americas from top to bottom was built on invasions. all the countries in the americas speak a european language so i dont have a problem with the mexicans coming to do work that americans wont do. |
