I don't really have a problem with immigrants being here, if they are illegal they should try to become citizens, especially if the US govt. makes it simple for them to do so. What i have a problem with is the damn Spanish written all over everything and on everything you hear. Even when you place a call with a digital answering service you have to wait while the entire thing is repeated in Spanish........give me a break! I just don't feel comfy with having to learn Spanish if it's not a priority for someone new to this country to learn English. I realize that the US is a nation of immigrants and many different language groups, but the US has to have some kind of identity and culture to bond its people together. I never dreamed there would be so much seperatism between this country's peoples. No wonder the rest of the world laughs at us. |

Providing that they do not children here in the US, illegal immigrants are not elligible for welfare, foodstamps, etc. They get paid and spend their money in the US, but they are not using the government for assistance. I think that they are actually boosting the economy. People need to stop being so bitter and realize that we all immigrated here at some point or another, whether it be YOU or YOUR ancestors! |
