Are USA citizens hospitable and friendly towars MEXICANS who visit their country?????
I am mexican... I live in México... My wife is a USA citizen...(not mexican american) My neighbor is from Nebraska.. a have a lot of friends from USA living here in my city (Monterrey) there are more than 2 million of USA citizen living in México permanently..
Most of the mexican people do not live from tourism... so is stupid the saying that mexican love the wallets and dance for a USD.... very ignorant and stupid....
Mexican people is hospitable and friendly toward everyone... there are some clumsy people (just like some answerers) who can be hostile... but it is jus like in the USA....
Or would you feel safe and confortable walking troughouth the Bronx at night???? Then...some assaults... yes... just like in USA.... some felonies.... yes... just like in USA... |

Most are genuinely friendly, however, a lot are only friendly because they are poor and either are expecting or anticipating a decent tip, there are also the unfriendly bunch, but they are extremely hard to come by. |

I have been treated ok. But I find there is more of an attitude when I am in Mexico than in prior years. I recently had an experience in the U.S. with some Mexican men that I would soon forget. I found a real anger beneath the surface...that they seem to be seething with anger towards Americans, and in particular American women. Just my experience. But I find this attitude they seem to be displaying more and more is not helping their situation in either country. |

As a Canadian visiting Mexico last year, I found them friendly, hospitable and accomodating. I'd go back again. I have found that most countries from Europe to Mexico see Canadians and Americans as all the same. |

from my experience. They do like the money, but most of the Mexican people as nice, friendly people. not saying that there are not some that do not like Americans. there are quite a few. I have found that you have to know the price and how much money you are to get back. Because they sometimes do not give you back the correct change. That happens most every where you go on the border towns. And that can not be just a mistake. So you must watch were you go, do not flash your money. And if you read the latest new reports . Most American have canceled their visits to Mexico because of the violence. be it rape, robbery, auto thief. A lot of the American sponsored surfing events and other events have been canceled. Your safety should be a big concern. Go to goggle and search Mexico violence |

It depends on the Mexican, and (even more so) it depends on the American. People are just people.
Mexicans are very proud of their nation, and they do not take kindly to visitors who insult the place or the people.
Neither would most readers. |

From what I have been reading in the papers Americans are targeted when they go to Mexico...even to the point of Americans getting attacked while they are there. When you consider that the drug czars run the government, it is dangerous there. |

Hell no! There is a upswing in the robberies and killings of Americans all over Mexico and it has hurt the tourist industry of some of the more popular vacation spots. |

I lived over there for a couple of years as an English teacher; overall they are friendly....at the very least civil. La Leona is correct though: there is an undercurrent of resentment bordering on hatred...this is found mostly in educated professionals and usually those from states in the interior and not too familiar with the US. Another subgroup that can be problematic is the working class male [sometimes female] 18-30 they seem to either love the US or hate it with a passion. I'm a tall light skinned Hispanic[guero], so sometimes I'd get some attitude ...but once they knew that I Spoke and understood Spanish, they were very cool!...they were even cooler once they found out that I had cousins that lived in that city. |

this is a proven fact,,,assaults against foreigners are increasing at an alarming rate at the popular tourist towns and beaches...So, you tell me if they are friendly and hospitable...Plus, if you are involved in a traffic accident, YOU are automatically at fault and will be forced to pay "Mordida" ( a bribe to the cops ) or taken to jail where you have to pay for your food, rent, etc. ( an idea i would like to see enacted here in the USA ) and is to a certain extent..Any way bottom line is that the beaches are less safe and the policia are never to be trusted...Sad but documented and true. |

You have to go to Cozumel, Mexico! people there are sooooo nice. It's a very private , quiet , beautiful island only 20 min away (boat ride) from Playa Del Carmen. 3 hr away from Cancun. you will fall in love with the people as well as the island. enjoy. |

Have spen much good time in Mexico. Lovely people for the most part.
Don't leave your valuables out for them ...as when your back is turned, your goodies will disappear. I guess they figure "Rich Americanos" don't need the money as much as we Mexicanos.
Several times in the most recent times, people have been actually caught robbing me and others. I actually had to fight with one of them to defend my stuff. What a goof ball to steal like a common criminal.
Turned the loser in to the local cops and they caught him and beat him up. Don't bother the gringos, they told him.
I kind felt bad for him ...but he got what he deserved.
Illegal criminals go home ...before you get what you deserve here in the USA. |

I don't know. I have never been there and I never will. I heard they practically beg for money. I don't mean to be sarcastic but the illegal Mexicans in the US are getting enough money out of us, as far as I'm concerned. |

yes. ANd, they are very appreciative of anyone that attempts to speak Spanish.
I have gone to places where I knew no one (Isla Mujeres) and I attended a quincinera, was invited to the home of a hostess at a restaurant. If you are there and are open, honest and non-judgemental, they are great.
Their image of Americans is of people that are loud, demanding, and, crude. When you show them that their image is wrong, they have as many questions about us as we do about them.
The most hospitable, pleasant people. The smaller the town, the friendlier (with some backwoods - Deliverence type- exceptions) |

Many criminals are coming from Mexico to the US for better pickings. All Americans should boycott mexican beaches. Go to Destin, Florida or gulf shores Alabama and the beached are just as nice and the beer is cheaper. |

I pick this thing up that americans are into telling people what to do but not being friends and put each other down, petty atitude,
mexican woman are gracious and personable,
americans dont care, all they want is to be looked at like thier better than anyone else,
I like mexican woman alot better than american one's, ive never dated latino woman but i can tell thier into what your talking about and really interested unlike american ones that are pompous and dont carew about anything but having a good time and talking BS white noise all the time,
