Of course illegal immigrants are important to the economy!
1. Who else would pick our produce if the illegal immigrants didn't? You think these white suburbanite Aryans would chafe in rough conditions and burn their pearly skin to pick some vegetables? No, they wouldn't.
2. Prices would substantially go up if all of the illegals were deported and barred from our country, because then the few workers that were willing to take their place would have to be paid minimum wage instead of slave wages.
3. The economy would crash if there was no cheap, easily exploitable slave labor to be used for farming and for our menial labor.
Also, I am appalled at the fact that most anti illegal immigrant people are blatant bigots! It makes me want to vomit? What makes everybody think that all illegal immigrants are Mexican? It is nearly impossible for a middle class person anywhere to become a U.S. citizen. First, it takes years and thousands upon thousands of dollars to become citizen, not to mention that the immigration laws are constantly being changed. It is impossible without hiring a lawyer, but do you think any of these illegal immigrants could afford this? Also, how does it inconvenience you at all that alternative language documents are provided for people that can't read English? Why does everybody mock them? Take a good look at yourself and you will realize that you are a disgusting human being for saying, typing, or even thinking these things. |

I fail to see what they do add to the economy, other than putting a major drain on our resources. Then again I am not from a farming state, in those places they may have a different point of view.
If they are illegal, that means that they are not paying taxes, hence they are not paying into any of the services that they want to use, health care, social security, education, even basic things like drivers licenses, and car insurance. |

Some say that they keep the cost of things down, but I have yet to see that connection. In-fact have noticed to opposite to be true...good luck finding an unbiased opinion. |

No.
1. They drive wages down even as those that are benefiting from the savings raise prices for greater profit margins.
2. They are a drain on the school systems. Many refuse to learn english and this causes teachers to waste valuable time on esl for a minority of students to the detriment of the other students.
3. They strain medical services to the breaking point causing many hospitals to close because the illegals do not pay for services. |

i think that if you would check the economic impact of them on the social service programs to the taxpayer you would definitely find that the out go from the taxpayer for their upkeep would far outweigh any importance, presently all things considered they take a lot more from the economy than they add |

i think they do help.. their are some that do pay taxes even though they have no papers they have the itin# and they do pay taxes
there all not bad people..yeah they have there bad share just like any other race...who are they people that go do farm jobs you dont see no white or blacks out there in the sun picking the vegetables we eat everyday. what happened on may 1 when no mexicans went to work and most of the places had no buisness because there were no labors to do the work that other people dont want to do. i think that they should be given the opportunity to have a citizenship not all not the criminals... |

No they are a burden.
Three points.....OK!
1. Overcrowded public schools funded by legal taxpayer money.
2. The cost of investigating crimes committed by illegals far exceeds that of other investigations.
3. Welfare and Medical Assistance fraud committed on a daily basis by the multiple illegals sharing the same identity.
I can go on but why???

With all the people who said no, would it make a difference if they are legal, would anything change? Who would work the farms etc? |

when you add up the cost of the taxpayer funding their beebees in our county hospitals, educating them with school taxes, driving up insurance costs since most drive with no license or no insurance the cost of a head of letturce comes out to $50.00 per American taxpayer. |

Some say illegal immigrants keep prices on some products lower than what they should be, however, most consumers lose more to taxes to pay for illegal immigrants using the government for their own gain. |

Only in the destruction of it.
If you give them a pathway to citizenship( which they have its called a V-I-S-A) - they will no longer do the " jobs that other people supposedly won't do" They will be Americans and demand higher pay and there will no longer be any economic incentive - we won't compete with the jobs going over seas. |

The government seems to think so.They will be giving illegals rebate checks soon!! It's too bad they don't listen to their employers, the American citizens. |

No--they do improve profits for business owners. Whatever the illegals earn is sent to Mexico, these people go back and forth over the border like a revolving door, undetected. |

ugh, I always hate these.
There is just no way to explain it well.
Illegal Immigrants are not helpful to the economy. not all of them. But the thing is, they come here to work (some do....some are just vile murderers and thieves and rapists and people who do just come here to have childrena dn have the Gov't pay for them) for their families. They want to better themselves and Mexico, for exmaple, is still a third world country. I don't agree they should be here Illegally, but for some there really is no choice. Some really do come here to work. but they really don't help the Economy.
by the way...there was this article that said there were like 100 million unemployed or something...and that there were about 100 million illegal immigrants taking those jobs....so if you take away the Ill. Imms. there is technically no unemplyoment. **not exact numbers....just an example. |

I know for a fact they keep the cost down. An American will not work for minimum wage unless he is a high school student. But guess who works all the intense labor jobs? Them or do you pick onions? How about subjecting yourself to standing outside on the sidewalk to see if your employer needs you to go to work. Obviously they think it's cost affective for their business. That's probably why all the big company's are now moving to other country's like China... |

These illegal immigrants are very important.
1. They do a lot of the farmwork in the US. If they went back to their homelands now, many farms will not be able to operate and there may even be a food shortage.
2. They are the only people who would take the low paying jobs.
3. If they weren't here there would be a labor shortage. |
