I wish I could say that surprised me. It doesn't. I have had the same experience posting questions in this section.

People are just either outright denying what you say happens or using their position on illegal immigration to justify such behavior.

It is not only wrong, it is frightening.

Let's take your questions one by one.

No they are not aware of it. When you ask about it they will claim that because of the emotional nature of this issue they are "joking". Well in MY book such jokes are very tasteless at BEST.

No, they are not aware of that either. Basically their defense boils down to "You broke our laws, so you are NOT human". That's just nonsense.

No they are not aware of the magnitude of their words. There are children on this site and this is what they are "learning". They don't care. They only care that "they" (meaning [insert group here]) are supposedly taking away everything that we worked hard for. They certainly have the right to FEEL that way. It does NOT justify such comments, or maybe worse yet, outright denying these comments are made.

Before spending so much time here(Y!A) I would have said yes you are wrong, this is an emotional issue, most people are good. Now I wonder. There is a very frightening and growing trend in this Country (the U.S.) of Narcissism -- "what's mine is mine and you are not taking any of it from me, and **** the rest of the world, the U.S. is all that matters".

Let's see them deny THAT.

ADD: For the record, when the "other side" does this, they are ALSO just as wrong.

Just because many of you are pointing this out does NOT mean you are answering the question.

Nor did I read anywhere where this questioner even SAID which side of this issue they were on. It is not relevant to the question.

People are good, they are just damn sick and tired of being taken advantage of. Do you think those people that are being talked about really give a good darn damn what is being said about them?

I think much of the hostility comes from the fact that they live and work here without paying taxes and they are taking jobs away from the people who do!

Basically people are good. The anonymity (sp?) of this site works against us sometimes. In other words, the majority of the people saying these things would never say them in front of the people they are insulting. I know someone who is very racist, he works around a bunch of people of color, and they think he is a nice old man. It is sad that he goes home and talks trash about them. But remember that is the minority. Most of us are good normal, loving people!

I agree with you that hateful speech is wrong and no matter if i agree with the basic message I rate 'bad answer. However there are issues where we as U.S. citizens are being used and abused. We do have laws and if we are not going to enforce them we are contributing in criminal behavior which is costing hard working, over taxed citizens into a behavior which only benefits Dems who count on their votes, legal or illegal or the Dems and Reps who have to protect their corporate donors who do not have to pay minimum wage or benefits or decent working conditions.

You are not wrong. Jingoism in one form or another has always been a pigment of man's imagination. Don Imas is or is not learning how stupid remarks can hurt. However, he did make one point which nobody is paying attention to. It's OK (?) for a black rapper to talk about "nappy-haired hoes" but a white guy gets dumped on if he does. Doesn't matter! Respect is the key word, and respect comes with words and actions. There is one exception. If some idiot points a gun at you demanding respect, at that point in time I'm not respecting him, I'm fearing him for my life.

People are becoming more and more frustrated so the rhetoric gets ramped up. Because of the US and Mexicos unwillingness to do anything about the problem it's just a matter of time til violence breaks out. Sad, but true.

good question,in england a lot of foreigners come here because they are going to get good welfare benefits and although the healthcare is overstretched its good compared to where the foreigners come from,that doesn't seem fair to a lot of us here when foreigners get housed,good schools for their children and good healthcare ,a lot of us feel they havent contributed to things,then we get called racist for saying anything like that.poor grammar i know.

If one only wants to see a particular portion - while ignoring others actions that are the exact same - just that they are not white - what is that?

I guess you missed the postings about people wanting to shoot Americans in general - "advocating genocide"?

I guess you missed the comments about Americans being "fat and lazy" - along with many other equally negative comments - such is not "dehumanizing"?

Have you totally missed the many negative things written about whites in this area - and the Spanish area - "do they notice the magnitude of their words"?

Face the reality - every race has those within it that are less than "good" and have no intent upon "looking at the effect of their own words and actions".

Your "wrong" when you limit and exclude others that have been equally insulted.

sometimes yes sometimes no, even when we're being intentionally argumentative or hateful we do not always recognize we are wrong. for example vengence, you feel justified in your aggressive acts not seeing both sides.

so i would suggest sometimes when they know they're doing wrong they feel justified in doing so. And indeed each situation holds it's own subtlties and details. so each must be judged seperately.

Because if you did, you would have been reading a whole lot of nasty, racist, obscene things in spanish written (in violation of Yahoo Answers rules) on this board in the past few hours by a bunch of very nasty Mexican kids, against what they assume to be white Americans ( I don't happen to be "white").
I wonder why you didn't say anything about what they wrote in your question! Are you a racist?

I am also wondering why those nasty mexican kids were able to stay on here so long, they were reported for various violations, many times. Apparently Yahoo only enforces CERTAIN rules against CERTAIN people, and my isn't that racist!

Well I am a legal immigrant as is My sister and late little brother, I say late because he was murdered by A illegal immigrant. Do I support killing them absolutely not.. But you have to understand that it makes it very difficult for those who spend years trying to get into the U.S legally, Would you allow just anyone in your home without asking? I think not.

Edit : Those that think illegals have/should have rights/the right
