I believe you are speaking of illegal immigration, I have not heard a lot of complaining about immigration.
Most people who oppose illegal immigration are law abiding citizens.
As for lack of education, how self absorbed is it to take the position that just because it does not affect your life then its an issue that needs be ignored?
I am a professional who opposes illegal immigration. I oppose it because it is illegal and harms my fellow countrymen no matter where they fall on the pay scale. It also takes a toll on our public schools and medical facilities, etc. |

I know a lot of people who oppose illegal immigration. I have found that the issue transcends education.
So, please tell me what having been abroad has to do with immigration. |

People with good qualifications can more easily comprehend the huge dollar drain in public services that illegals cause. And the same people can easily spot a spin when they see it. |

Its not a question of opposing immigration because immigrants contribute to the country, pay taxes, and learn english.
It is about opposing illegal immigration, which these peoople dont bother to pay taxes, contribute to the country or learn english, heck they have more rights than we as U.S. citizens do.
Do you realize that while we continue to leave this problem alone, the illegals are killing, stealing and ripping off money from you by paying higher taxes to cover their medical expenses which are being racked up at the E.R. because of no health insurance.
True immigration is good and most of your families were immigrants but one HUGE difference was they had skills, contributed to the growth of the country and spoke the common language (english).
If we dont watch ourselves, the question won't be if we get taken over it will be when.
One other thing, buisness moves companies out of this country because of the lack of a good work ethic from Americans, and thanks to the government, NAFTA |

Better educated are more likely to be able to buy themselves out of the areas where these immigrants live,and are exploiting their cheap labour, the less educated have to live in the same streets, and compete for some of the same jobs.
In England its middle and working class not educated and less educated.but its the same problem. |

After all, those who have good qualifications aren't competing with poorly educated Mexicans or Asians. And most will have been abroad themselves.
So are you then implying that it is ok for immigrants either legal or illegal to come here and take the jobs of the people of this country who are less qualified and struggle to make ends meet while trying to hold down a low paying job that they dont want the sack from as there are hundreds of immigrants waiting to fill his/her shoes.
The UK population is not made up wholey of highly educated people and i think it is a huge insult to the working class that you suggest this may be the case.
People who oppose immigration and racists come from all walks of life it is more likley the case that the upper class may well oppose it but it is not pollitically correct for them to voice there oppinion while the working class shall. |

thats not true at all, alot of people have to take jobs lower than their standards. more illegals + outsourcing, many jobs are simply leaving, due to alot of U.S companies that are
just moving over seas one company have just got rid of 700
jobs in illinois. those jobs went overseas as well. |

Perhaps just less informed...education expands the mind but being informed is what is born of the education. It doesn't allow one to stay "stuck."
Going to college doesn't make one smarter any more than standing in a garage makes one a car! It's what you do with it that makes it work... |

Better educated people are more likely to be wealthier and have high level jobs and will actually meet and talk to a lot more 'immigrants', so can make up their own mind about other people. You do know there is a difference between illegal immigration & immigration right I mean since your so educated it's a simple concept one is hear legaly one is not. One asked & got permission, one did not. Hemm seems it's not so much about people in lower income brackets being afraid of not getting a job or may be even loosing their job, but more about SOME PEOPLE who are uneducatded about the law. |

none oppose immigration the legal sort it is the illegal law breaking sort that is opposed and those that do so are not the less intelligent but the more they can see the future trend leading to the downfall of the american way of life far more than any terrorist could , if this horde is not stopped by some means we will go down as a third world country and if you do not think so take a ride sometime to the city of Miami and see if you recognize your own country |

An intelligent person would look into the fact that illegals cost billions per year in health care costs not to mention education. An intelligent person would study the damage done to emergency rooms and hospitals that must shut their doors leaving small communities without easily accessible health care services due to losses incurred from illegal immigrants. He/she would also look into the damage done to public schools in heavily affected area's.
An intelligent individual would educate him/herself on both sides of the issue before approaching the topic.
I am still working on my education, I am currently in graduate school but your last statement seemed a little narrow minded and lacking any real argument for your question/statement. It was more so an attempt to flame those who do not support the law breaking act of illegal immigration, but it failed so miserable that I am not certain. |
