To answer the first part of your question, I imagine there is a greater focus on Hispanics and Mexicans due to the sheer number of them entering the country illegally. in regard to punishing the employers of illegals, I'm with you 100%. If there are no jobs, the illegals will stop coming.

I think we should attack those who hire illegals. If you drive a getaway car, you are charged with abeiting a felon, why should employing an illegal be different? I am not shopping at Wal-Mart because they hire illegals. It is a long process, though. You really can't just boycott one store or company, because it is so integrated in our system. The farmers use them to harvest. It's everywhere. It affects everyone, weather you live on the border or not.

Yes that's where we need to start.A company in our town was fined over $10,000 for hiring illegals.We need to start boycotting these companies that hire them.It has been called to my attention that these companies hire illegals:
Butterball,Tysons,Hormel,Seaboard.Don'... buy their products.

It won't make the problem stop, but it probably would help! If all employers followed the rules that say you have to show proof of citizenship or prove you have the right to work here, there wouldn't be so many illegal immigrants getting jobs. Unfortunately, there are other areas where no matter what we do there will be illegal immigrants working and coming in. Why is everyone only concentrating on the Latin immigrants? There are plenty of other races that are coming into the country illegally! There are people smuggled in from Asia every day--who are being sold into slavery in this country! They are just as illegal! I haven't seen anyone complaining about them! I think that a lot of people need to remember that a great deal of this country used to belong to other countries too! We need to make those that are here citizens and get rid of the back log of people that have applied for citizenship--there's millions of them--then concentrate on the companies that have not followed the laws. We also need to change some of our policys-why should illegals from certain countries be given preferential treatment?

Yes, we are blaming them equally because if they aren't here, there don't get the job offers. In all of the immigration reform they are trying to crack down on companies that hire illegals. The pro-illegal people turn it into a personal issue instead of a company issue, which then infuriates people because then we see the people who choose to come here illegally.

people always refer hispanics or illegals as Mexicans.. they forget that other countries make up illegals and hispanics.. it's not fair to the Mexicans.. There are hard working mexicans that have nice homes, nice cars, nice families , well dressed and very good etiquette. much better than any lazy american.

oh yeah it would=take away the ability to work and there is no reason to come here illegally. But govt. is looking at the economic picture and are afraid that the economy would have a down turn, so they are to afraid to do anything in that sector.

I agree with you. If the government wants to put an end to illegal immigrants they should fine the companies that hire them. The companies that hire them slash the wages and get almost slave labor which is very unfair to them and the american worker. If the company can get an illegal to work for $6.00/hr then they would not have to pay the american worker $16.00/hr, the company should be fined a very very heavy fine.

That would solve the problem for people coming into the US. But it would leave a lot of illegals here out of work. We need a work program, but a securitized border with the National Guard down there. How dare these illegals protest.

I do blame the companies for enabling this situation. The special interests are the primary reason why this is even an issue, and why nothing has been done about illegal immigration problem sooner. I cannot blame the illegals because the system enables and encourages them to come here by breaking the law, since they know that they can get jobs here and won't be deported. Until the corporate interests are hit hard on this issue, I don't think much will change.

What is your favorite veggie? Lets take Oranges for example. If you were to goto the store today and buy a bag of your favorite oranges for... lets say $5.00 a bag. That would seem quite the deal. Now lets put some legislations and penalties on the farmers that higher illegal Hispanics/Mexicans to pick those oranges. Now the farmer is forced to higher American workers and they are required to pay a minimum wage. Now go back to that same store, and you will find that your favorite bag of oranges is now $25.00 per bag. What will be the argument then?

I think that many people are just hating are the immigrants. First of all I don't know what americans fight for and Mexicans and African Americans. First of all the Country is nobodys.
