I'm Welsh but I still think England should be encouraged to celebrate their national Saints Day. I've signed.
My partner is English and he would like to be able to celebrate St George's day. He never did, not even as a child at school. Whereas we always dressed up and celebrated St David's Day at school when we were kids.
I think all the Saints Days should be national holidays - St Davids Day in Wales, St George's Day in England, St Patricks Day in Northern Ireland and St Andrews Day in Scotland should all be UK national holidays. |

I am an Englishman of Scots ancestry, and proud of it, but why should I want to celebrate a saint's day, especially a Levantine saint who never set foot in England and who had no connection with England until the murderous crusades, and who is now only being promoted by a Brewery to drum up sales? |

i'll sign it, but i doubt it'll make any difference: the government doesn't want to offend anyone, even though i've never come across anyone (english, immigrant or whatever) who's actually against celebrating st. george's day...
these invisible and rather easily offended people appear to have our government totally in their hands...which is rather amusing as they don't exist... |

Done, but with such a lousy government I suspect we'll all have Diwali off instead. |

By parentage I'm an Anglo-Finn but I consider myself English, I was born in England, educated here, work here, pay my tax here and appreciate England. Surprisingly enough I speak English as my mother tongue Loll.
Yes we should celebrate England (UK)as no other country was more liberal - I say was because things are just going to far! |

I'm English by three generations. All the way back from there it's Irish (as in, ALL the way back). Republic. Does that mean I'm meant to sign it? xxx |

Why would we need to sign a petition? There's nothing stopping us celebrating if we want to.

I'm British.
I do find it saddening that everyone seems to celebrate St Patrick's day because it's an excuse to drink (although, who needs an excuse?!) and not for the proper reasons. They then don't celebrate their own nation's saints day and barely even know when it is.
I feel it's a lack of national pride due to the PC brigade making us feel ashamed to be proud of our heritage. |

Born n bred here, which makes me BRITISH and proud of it, when I was a kid we had an empire day to celebrate, we should definately have a national day and gain pride in our country before the interlopers totally ruin it for us.
Born British than Be BRITISH!!!!!! |
