Are you FOR open borders? if so why?

Open borders would enable people to commit crimes without a way of tracking them or being able to apprehend. Oh wait--we have that now!!

As we approach another 9-11, where did our trust for foreigners land us??

no. what is wrong with people who honestly want to be citizens, doing it the way it is supposed to be done. last I looked every country had their legal way of becoming a citizen, as well as their own borders.

Absolutely not. We got enough problems in our country rather than dealing with "illegal immigration." It wouldn't be that bad of a problem if immigrants really put to heart in becoming a citizen.

NO because our country has been an economic power for 100 hundred years and through that time we have always had immigration laws that helped keep our economy strong. Now we are making the rich richer and the poor, poorer, which is great for rich people and bad for everybody else. Mexico has work available, but they want to widen the gap also, and now, without borders being enforced, the USA is having more and more problems keeping up with inflation. If our economy is affected negatively, it affects the world, even Mexican land. It's not good for anybody when the USA economy is being threatened. Not to mention the safety and well being of our own citizens and people here legally.
The insanity of it is, that people would not want an unwelcome person in their house, but when it comes to the country, as long is it doesn't directly affect them negatively, they will encourage other peoples rights being trampled.

No. Economically it would e disasterous. If we can't regulate how many people come here, we would have more workers than jobs. We would end up having Shanty towns like Mexico city or Bombay. We can not prevent enviromental disasters like introduction of foreign flora and Fauna. We would encourage over population. The over populated countries can continue with their behavior and just send their excess people to the US. We would have a greater difficulty controlling drugs, and other countries can prey on ours by using overpopulation to conquer our country and force their beliefs on us. An Islamic Cleric in Australia advocated this as a means to conquest the west.

No. I am considered a "PRO", but, we couldn't survive economically or socially the influx of "new" people. Plus we have a difficult enough time knowing who is in our country now....... OPen borders would be a nightmare for everyone in the real world.

I don't know anyone who is for open borders.In my experience quite the opposite is true.Many Pro Reform while they wish for better laws that are broadbased rather than open ended in some area's have a significant problem with NAFTA and open border policies.Open borders are NOT the answer to illegal immigration.New and better laws,better borders,and more concern with American citizens and our welfare should be our top priorities.

Yes if they're going to be a citizen. Otherwise tax money is going to support people who are not taking the initiative to play an active role in the country which they live.

yes this is nation of immigrants. Walls fences etc will only make peole more desperate and enrich the smugglers. I think anti immigration campaign is designed to get working americans and those who can't find work to blame mexicans and others instead of corporate fat cats at haliburton and elsewhere

yes, it promotes free trade between nations, creates peace with that nation, and benefites both nations exponentially by providing workers and consumers. When there is an influx of people there are more people bringing their skills and talents to the work force as well as spending more money back into the economy. Open borders does not promote illegal immigration, btw, even when the borders are totally open and no passport/visa is needed, the US gov. would still take down names so we know who is coming in. That is NOT illegal immigration, that would be legal.

As capital has become international, labor must become international. There is an old union battle cry which goes, "An injury to one is an injury to all." That battle cry must become global.

The U.S. working class cannot be protected without protecting the interests of all working class people around the globe. Borders make that task extremely difficult. The real purpose of borders is to keep the slaves on the plantations. The U.S. working class will soon discover that they too are being enslaved on the plantation as wages continue to decline, benefits are lost and better-paying jobs offshored. The world's working class can only succeed if they unite in the struggle against capital.
