I am for it. Our neighbors look out for us and vice versa. If I caught someone in their home robbing them, I'd shoot first and ask questions later and the exact same is true for my own property. Why should illegals or any other criminal be allowed to pillage and plunder another's home? I suppose some may say let them have it, I say hell no that's what's wrong with our nation today. There are boundaries that should not be crossed much like our borders!! |

Well, it's either that or the criminals will shoot ME first. It's our right to protect ourselves, living in Texas or not.
I would gladly shoot criminals in my neighbors' house and I would hope they would do the same.

I am for it. These "gangstas" who wreck communities and terrorize parts of the cities think they are so badass. Well, obviously not when armed and vigilant citizens are ready.
BTW, illegals don't have rights. And we have the right to defend our property. |

I agree with the guy that shot them. Illegals are here illegals and shouldnt have rights. |

I think that if you are protecting yourself, your family, or your property, and the use of deadly force is necessary (and if they are in your house, I do not care if they are leaving) then shooting criminals is warranted.
pplz1st...so by your logic, he should have held them at gunpoint and robbed them. That would have been equal, right?
John L....if you walked in on your young daughter being raped by a man who, if you did not shoot, would snap you in half or shoot you, would you kill them? You say it is never okay....are you going to watch someone rape your small child, wife, whoever? I don't think so. |

It is obvious that such individuals have no respect for property or life of others, thus perhaps this is the only message they comprehend or will be deterred by and if so then this is the answer. |

Actually, The rest of the states would do well to adopt that portion of the Texas Constitution. |

Actually Quanell X did say something about the Horn shooting, but now that Horn made national news, 2 more would be burglars have been shot and killed and i fully support it. |

Yes! The only time you will really wish you had a gun to defend yourself is when you are confronted by a criminal who is armed with one. I used to be staunchly anti-gun until I had a group of drug-crazed bikers literally kick my front door in one night. Only the fact that my neighbor came to the rescue with a gun of his own saved me from serious injury or death that night. We live in a rural area, and the 911 operator informed me that it would be at least 45 minutes before the sheriff could arrive. I told her that they would probably only find my still-warm body by that time. Right about then was when my neighbor heard the commotion and came over to rescue me. He held all 4 of them on the ground at gun-point until the police arrived to arrest them. It's a sad fact, but you can research it for yourself: New York and Washington D.C. have the tightest gun-control laws in the nation, AND they also have the highest gun-violence rates in the nation. Figure it out. When the government force fully disarms all of the HONEST, LAW-ABIDING citizens, then only the CRIMINALS are left with guns. And they have the advantage of knowing that their victims will be without a serious and effective means of protecting themselves against an armed attacker or home-invader. |

I think that you have the right. I'm all for it... I'll bet there hasn't been a robbery in that neighborhood since. |

According to VP Chaney, you can shoot anything that moves in Texas. |

I'm gonna start another riot

Yes they were a threat to him once they were on his land then he sees them breaking into the house next door. Are the robbers going to return and take out the only witness to their crime |

I believe a person has a right to defend their property. Don't know enough about the Texas case to say whether it was a righteous shooting or not, that call is made by the responding officers.
Burglary can so often lead to more serious crimes, so many rapes and murders are perpetrated by burglars who break in, get caught, and flip out. IMHO a person in my home without my permission is on VERY THIN ICE.
Personally, the two occasions I have used my own weapon to defend myself or my home I did not have to fire a shot. The bad guys saw my weapon, saw I was ready to use it, and ran away.
I am not a backshooter, I let them leave. In both cases they did NOT come back. |

I think that illegal criminal aliens should be shot - but it needs to be controlled by law. |

The Castle Doctrine is alive and well in Texas as well as the state in which I live.
These were bad guys with rap sheets proving it.
The way the law in written in Texas the homeowner was well within his right to do what he did on at least 4 points of the new law.
It is my hope that the grand jury will throw this inquiry out. It may send a message loud and clear to any theif or thug that thinks what is yours is also theirs. |

"Trespassers will be shot"
I'm all for it. If someone's doing harm to my property, then I have every right to shoot them. If they didn't want to be shot, then they should have just stayed home. |

Illegal or not I'd still shoot someone if i thought they were going to harm me, my family, or my neighbors. My Dad asked a Police officer one time "if someone was to rob our house would i get arrested if i were to shoot and kill him on my own property?" The police officer's response was "say you saw a flash so you reacted to it and thought your life was at stake. Just make sure you don't shoot them in the back. It's one less criminal the tax payers have to take care of."
I am a white American. ******* come in all colors. If they were Caucasian i'd still shoot them if my life was at stake.
It's in the constitution we have the right to bare arms. |

I say its hard to accept. Someone being allowed to shoot someone, who is breaking in a house a crime. I would hope my neighbor like me enough to help me protect my family and possessions. I say that being allowed to do so like in TX is a great way to send the proper message. You commit a crime you will pay for it. I personally know a old woman that a man broke into her home and fell from the roof and sued her for his injury. |
