No, because it rewards these illegals for breaking the law.

The illegal Mexican immigrants are invading this country trying to take it over. It's encouraged by Mexico and the American businesses who use them for cheap labor. Their loyalty is to Mexico. They proved that during one of the first rallies when they took down the American flag, hung up the Mexican flag, and then hung the American flag upside down underneath it. THAT is how they feel about America.

Then the people who want to appease them pull out the excuses about how people who are not even alive now, and haven't been for hundreds of years, 'stole' the land from the American Indians. Even American politicians are carrying out this traitorous attack on our sovereignty! If this keeps up, the United States of America will become a 3rd world country, just like Mexico! Mexico's problems are not the fault of Americans, but they are becoming our problems because the Mexicans are invading us and bringing their problems with them.

The illegals make up about 5 % of the work force. The unemployment rate is about 4.5%. Keep in mind that the unemployment rate does NOT represent everyone who is unemployed. It only counts those who are collecting unemployment. Everyone else's plight is ignored. The unemployment rate if everyone was counted would be tremendous. We do NOT have a shortage of labor, we have a large surplus. The more illegals that come in and take our jobs at minimum wage or less (often less) puts more and more Americans out of a job. Most of these Americans are never counted in the unemployment rate if they do not manage to get unemployment benefits. Unemployment benefits are hard to receive.

Illegals draw welfare by stealing people's social security numbers and identities. That means there are a lot of people being directly hurt by these people as well. Innocent people are having their credit ratings ruined, having IRS problems, and social security problems. If someone who has had their social security number stolen gets married, if either spouse dies or become disabled then they can be denied their benefits.

The illegals get welfare by stealing social security numbers and identities and using false papers. Therefore, the time limits under the Clinton welfare reform doesn't apply to them because once the time limit is up, all they have to do is get new stolen social security numbers and identities and false papers and start all over again. American citizens who draw welfare are limited to the time limits from the welfare reform and are then cut off. American citizens who fall on hard times and have to turn to welfare assistance have a harder time finding jobs that pay enough to live off of because the illegals have taken jobs and depressed the wages of those jobs still available to American citizens. Therefore, those in the lower working class are highly unlikely to ever be able to "work their way up" since the opportunities have been stolen which will entrap these people into poverty with little to no way out.

My family moved to the US before WWII. Those of my family that didn't make it over got killed by the death camps. Our family assimilated to the American culture. We didn't expect the Americans to change to suit us. The illegal immigrants from Mexico are not civilized like that.

They not only changed the National Anthem to Spanish, they changed the words. They already burn our flag and hang our flag upside down. They waved the Mexican flag during a lot of their protests. Some schools have stopped hanging the American flag and forbidden students from wearing clothes with any part of the American flag on their clothing all to keep from offending the Mexicans. It's nothing short of an attack of our country, not only by the illegal aliens, but those who seek to appease them.

I am tired of the stereotype that Americans wouldn't do the work that illegals do. Illegals do all kinds of jobs for less than minimum wage which drives the wages down for U.S. citizens. Construction jobs are an example. There are lots of illegals doing construction jobs that Americans used to do because the companies can keep more of the profits if they pay less for the workers. All that does is make companies wealthier and Americans poorer. Illegals are stealing jobs that Americans have done for years.

Thus, in orchestrating this war on America, the Mexican state is representing the desires of the Mexican people as a whole.

What are these desires?

(1) Political revanchismâ€”to regain control of the territories Mexico lost to the U.S. in 1848, thus avenging themselves for the humiliations they feel they have suffered at our hands for the last century and a half;

(2) Cultural imperialismâ€”to expand the Mexican culture and the Spanish language into North America; and especially

(3) Economic parasitismâ€”to maintain and increase the flow of billions of dollars that Mexicans in the U.S. send back to their relatives at home every year, a major factor keeping the chronically troubled Mexican economy afloat and the corrupt Mexican political system cocooned in its status quo. That penalizes people who have been playing by the rules. The people that broke the law should pay the penalty (similar to what would happen in their own country). Try crossing into Mexico illegally. They send you to jail, and then they deport you.

Absolutely no amnesty. People all over the world are waiting to get here legally. But once they find out that its so much easier to break the law and be rewarded, our nation will be sooo much more flooded with people we cant afford. The situation here in Los Angeles has seen the consequences caused by illegal immigrants. Social Services have been destroyed. Emergency Rooms have closed. People are dying in ambulances because the local ER is no longer operational. Illegals must not be rewarded. They should be punished, but thats impossible because there is way to many of them. The only way to improve the situation is by jailing the people that employ illegals. If their is no work for illegals, they will simply have to back home.

If you are talking about illegal aliens, then no.

They broke the law, there are thousands waiting, who played by the rules to get into our country. Giving amnesty to the illegals is slapping people in the face for following the rules.

Only once the border is secure, only without family reunification benefits (which would effectively multiply those here many times) and only WITHOUT either the rolling amnesty provision of the 10 year statute of limitations the Senate stuck in and without rewarding those who stole the social security cards of others with social security benefits for that action.

Even then it would really hurt because the schools and health care in border states are foundering. However, with those elements I'd accept it because I would have a hard time living with the constant life stories of families ripped up by the roots in my community. I think the parents at minimum bought the problem. I just have a hard time with it.

This was raised back in the 80's when Reagan was president.
We were all told it was NOT amnesty but a path to citizenship for illegals and then we would strengthen the borders and not have this problem again.

The first problem (at least in CA) was the HUGE influx right before the cutoff date. THEN, no real border security and here we go again.

IF there was a way to ensure that NO MORE (and I mean NO MORE) illegals could come in I might consider it (since then all would at least be paying taxes, but then lose those jobs low paying jobs under the table etc. and probably have to go on welfare).

SO, amnesty is not the answer, because it 1) does not address the problem. 2) rewards people who have broken the law and 3) just makes more room for more of them to come to take over the jobs of now citizens who want the minimum wage.

(and I am not racist, nor do I think they are less than human beings, just that they should not get a break no one else gets).

I wouldn't say an across-the-board amnesty would be a good thing, but how about a registration process where those who have been here for years and years and living as clean honest people be given the chance to apply and those with criminal backgrounds turfed out. Expensive but fair, and would show the world you're not being heavy handed or opening floodgates, you're just recognizing this situation exists and addressing it. Obviously you need either a temporary immigration class for migrant workers or an immigration class for migrant (and the jobs nobody else wants) who are in the country for five or more years and not criminals to allow for these people to more easily come to the US and also to allow employers to still have their cheap labor.

YES!Because they are already here,and many have already been here for years(decades).They have children that were born here,and they no longer have ties to their home countries.They have worked and paid taxes and been productive members of society.

Amnesty for those who deserve it, like the immigrant children who were brought by their parents as babies. It is not their fault they broke the law unknowingly and they should have a chance to par with their peers in the only country they know.

LOL, well... here's a pickle, you say no, what do you do with millions of people already in US (I assume we're talking about the US) you say yes and there will be millions more. Frankly I want to see border security (not a joke of a fence) followed by a fine a strict criminal review and on case-by case basis legalization (not really amnesty because you'd have to pay a fine) but... in our system that will take so long that most of the people in question will die before the first of them has to pay... As it stands now I'm afraid I have to answer yes to your question because it is the smaller of two evils, deportation is not an option, it costs too much and the people come back.
