I am pro immigration. The only reason they are illegal is because it takes forever to get over here legally. And without illegal immigration there would be many jobs vacant because lazy americans would not want to work in them especially at the pay rate they get. |

This country is built on legal immigration.
I am American, my husband is from Iran. We married in 1979, he became an American in 1986 through the legal process. I think everyone should do it the legal way, so that they don't have to look over their shoulder everyday.
This also allows them the ability to VOTE.

Con to illegal. Pro to legal.
My dad came here in 1958 legally. He had to be sponsored by a family before he could even set foot in this country. If he screwed up, he would've been thrown out, and the family would have been held responsible as well. He worked his @$$ off to send money back to Portugal to bring over his parents... and 9 brothers and sister. They all came over legally and all became citizens.
If they could all do it legally so can everyone else. No excuses. |

I'm con---It uses our tax dollars in hundreds of ways. These illegals expect to have the same rights that legal immigrants and citizens have, but they don't contribute financially to pay for them. I work in a dr office and a pregnant illegal or even a visitor can deliver her baby here and the state welfare system will pay for the delivery (not much but the patient cannot be billed) and then she can stay because her baby is a citizen by birth.
I empathize with their desire to improve their situation but they need to work within the system or the situation won't be any better here than it is there. |

no one is FOR illegal immigration (except large corporations and the government) if they really wanted to keep illegals from entering the country instead of just trying to make it LOOK like they care, the government would impose harsher penalties for hiring workers without social security numbers. |

Con because it's illegal. (Quietandshy got it right before me.) If there are thousands immigrating legally, it's a slap in the face to them and to our society to say illegal immigration is OK. If they don't have to follow the law then, why should they follow any law of this land?
What's up with Chapin4ever? No one here said con Latinos. I wouldn't. DH and my son are Latinos. (Of course, being Puerto Rican, DH didn't have to get a passport to come to the mainland. He was already a citizen.) |

Immigration shouldn't be racist. My parents are immigrants from Mexico and they are legal. After all white people were immigrants from new england you all fools need to learn your history that includes the president. We also know that there are more American people that immigrants so Americans shouln't be worried. Im a PRO on illegal immigration. People who immigrate should be given chances and not all of them are criminals. More immigration into the united states is not bad because they help the economy after all Ive heard that we Mexicans work harder than SOME of the lazy bum Americans who work. |
