Sure...learned to speak German. And interestingly, Germans make up the largest single immigrant group to the US and proved that they too could learn a new language...English.
Wow!!! |

I'm not stupid enough to move to another country if I don't know the predominate language or at least know some of it and willing to learn the rest !! |

Yes, I speak another language fluently.
You should ask that to the illegals who come to the US!! |

Yes, obviously. UNLESS, you are in the USA and speak Spanish -- they have to have everything in their language. Every other immigrant to this country was smart enough to learn English. Guess Hispanics are genetically unable to learn a language other than Spanish/Tex-Mex. |

Conas ata tu, t'a m'e ceart go leor
I have been dying to try out my writing, I speak better than I write but getting better daily. I also speak fluent French but Gaelic is butt kicking hard for me, I am looking into another language but I have not decided which to take the university is offering language studies after hours and I decided to take on my heritage and try Gaelic, did you know that the Southern Drawl is heavily influenced by Gaelic?...
Slan go foill
EDIT: Micky, somehow I knew you would speak Gaelic :) |

Yup, but it will be one who I WANT to learn.
If I go to another nation then I obviously want to be there so I will learn the culture AND their language if it is different than English. |

OK, I am going to be honest. The first time I took a foreign language was my junior year in college. I was 21 years old and had never done so before. I was also up to my eyeballs in the advanced government and politics classes I needed for my major.
That said, I tried as hard as I could to learn Spanish, but it was incredibly hard for me. I was a straight A student through high school and college, but I barely pulled a C in Spanish. The only reason I got through it was one of my classmates was from Argentina and she tutored me.
I do know American Sign-Language, though! |

Hai. But it's not all about smarts - you have to be dedicated and make the effort to learn. It's going to take more than listening to a CD in the car for a few minutes a day to learn. |

Si. Oui. Ja. Da. Hai. I don't find languages to be very difficult to learn. But since I don't have any regular use of them, my fluency has dropped significantly.
In the US, unlike many other countries, not only is there very little interaction with speakers of foreign languages, thanks to England, English is the lingua franca of business the world over.
I'd have to travel over 400 miles to get to the nearest place a different language is spoken (Ottawa, Canada). |

Answer: Sure! Now if I could garner the criminal character to invade anothers country, not learn the language or assimilate, then have the unmitigated GALL to make demands upon those that I have already criminally assaulted...
Sorry! This was about another language correct? How about this...Pog mo tho'in! Try it! I think you'll like it! |

Ja, sicher. Just like Kermit, my grandparents had to learn English. To honor my family heritage I have learned German. Too bad my dad passed before he knew I finally learned it. Wie shade. |

Being smart doesn't mean you can learn another language. If you are patient and really willing to learn then nothing is impossible. Some people are smart but stubborn. |
