If you answered NO, well too bad! now you have to because of the new immigration bill SB1070. Instead of sending illegals to ICE for processing and deportation, Arizona tax payers are going to get slapped with a bigger tax bill for having to support them in jail, and the only people making money from this are the lawyers that drafted the bill and the private prisons giant Corrections Corporation of America.
How do you feel about paying more taxes and supporting illegals in jail?
(I especially want to hear from Tea Party members that hate all the taxes).

I live in AZ and there is no report of illegals leaving the state. Infact, more are coming in from CA and NM to protest the law.

I'm from Arizona, and it sounds good to me.
Perhaps you haven't heard, but large numbers of illegals are leaving Az.
That is all we want. We really don't care if they return to their home country,
are deported, or go to California or New Mexico.
The law is already working, and it has not even gone into effect yet!!!!

Well, if ICE won't do their job (on orders from Obama) then what is Arizona supposed to do? The illegals have to be dealt with and since the feds won't do anything, Arizona had to. I don't live in Arizona but if I did I would gladly pay higher taxes if it meant getting rid of illegals. |

With the amount of illegals leaving and the burden they already are on the taxpayer I'm sure it amounts to a net savings. Now all we need is the domino effect to take place, 18 states now have similar bills on the table and i hate to be in a state that doesn't. States that don't follow suit will in turn become magnet states and attract illegals fleeing Arizona's HB1070.
And if they end up in Maricopa county jail they will cost pennies...have you seen Sheriff Joe's jail? Cheap Cheap Cheap. |

There again we are involved in the double bind. The illegals are fed and housed in prison and we the taxpayers area paying the bill. There needs to be a loud outcry that they should not be housed in prison except if they have committed a crime other than border jumping. Look how quickly the prison system accepts them. It is another big business that we the taxpayers are taxed for.
The border needs to be defended even if it takes a wall. This is enough pandering to the politicos and their special interests. And additionally, the illegals receive medical care while in prison at taxpayer expense. This whole debacle is like something from the Wizard of OZ. |
