I am currently 17 years of age and my passport will expire at the end of July. I am planning to go overseas at the beginning of June which means I should renew my passport before I go overseas. My birthday is late June. Is it possible to apply for an adult passport before I turn 18?

I mean, a child's passport expires in 5 years whereas an adult one lasts for 10 years. Saves the hassle.

Any comments appreciated.

Also, do you know if I can travel even if its 2 months before its expiry date?

I'm be gone and back before my passport expires.

You can't get an adult passport before you turn 18 though you will be able to travel on your child's passport after you turn 18. No way around it.
