Will be working overseas but want to eventually live there

You can but you cannot live full time in the US without permanent residence which is difficult to obtain.

You can stay up to six months at a time on a B-2 Visa; you can do this every year as long as the visa is valid and you can renew the visa when it expires. Many people live in Arizona only during cooler months, october or November through perhaps May.

You cannot stay more than 90 days on the Visa Waiver Program so you will have to apply for a visa.
