I'm not a Brit, but I'm a member of British expat forums such as Pomsinoz and BritishExpats and mortgages etc are often discussed on there.
If you have full time work here (and as a nurse you will) and a decent deposit (£30,000 is a decent deposit), you won't have any trouble getting a mortgage. If you can get here before the end of June and can find somewhere in time, you are also eligible for the First Home Buyers Grant which is $21,000 for new homes and $14,000 for established homes). The amounts will change after June though and the government is very tight lipped about what the changes will be.

Its not the mortgage that's the problem, the problem is getting the visa and then the green card to live in Australia. You either have to have a bomb load of money or have a skilled job set up over there. |
