Jaclyn said it all. ILLEGAL is the key word that some seem to forget. |

immigrants don't neccessarily need to leave. some have a hard time trying to become "legal". some of my friends are considered "illegal" even when they came over legally. they have a hard time getting the government to cooperate to make sure they don't become the "illegals" that everybody complains about. some also have to renew their status every 2 years, even though they've lived here since before they started school it's kinda f----d! also, our whole economic system is based on immigration in the first place! it's just a new century |

To be entirely fair, Pres. Bush is the one who is trying to regularize illegal immigrants' status, with his fast tracking proposals. It's ignorant members of the Congress who are the ones mucking things up this time around. In a way, I hope that that bill passes and becomes law. Then we will see who will be the ones being the nannies, drivers, painters, plumbers, chefs, waiters, and landscapers to Congressmen and their families! They might just see that, for once, Bush had a good idea after all. |

Sure, why don't you give your home and property back to the American Indians. |

Have you not been payaing attention? Bush is one of the major supporters of a "guest worker" plan that would essentially lead to the citizenship of illegals here in the US. I swear, some of you are so blinded by your hatred of Bush, you can't even see when he's actually doing something you'd support. Asno estúpido. |

i think bush has to go. |

No. You are mistaken. That's not what's going on at all. |

If Bush wants to get rid of latinos nothing is lost - latinos are of no use to American economy or otherwise. If Bush wants to get rid of others then America will find itself like Ethiopia. |

Ol' Dubya is just trying to distract us from the real issues that are hurting this country. Once this blows over, he'll drag out the gay Marriage issue again....once that is gone he'll start talking about going back to the Moon or some such nonsense. |

How does a senate bill all of a sudden become the will of the president? |

YOur premise is all wrong - smarten up
Nobody wants to get rid of immigrants -- nobody What the Prez wants is LEGAL immigration and also secure borders -- and MOIST americans, Republcans and Democrats, agree on this. And what 99% of all Americans agree with is that if anyone wants to change the language and the words to our national anthem - they can get outta this country NOW |

WRONG!! We want to get rid of "ILLEGAL" immigrants! |

I don't believe we should leave. Most of us have a Social Security card, and we pay our taxes. |

I believe it the ILLEGAL immigrants that he wants to get rid of. Word your question better. Then you won't get such irate answers!! |

Actually, this is the DUMBEST point the pro-illegals are trying to make. Bush IS NOT (unfortunately) trying to get rid of illegals. That's all I'm gonna say. If you want to know what Bush thinks, read up on it in the news.
Second, I don't care what the indigenous people think. Our forefathers claimed this land and had the power to keep it, and they made the most prosperous country in the world. That's all that's important. |

I am Native to this land, I was born here. How do you manage to breathe with your head so far up your ***?
God you people and your conspiracy theories make me sick. How can you say billions of dollars a year lost to ANY cause is not a non issue? Regardless of my stance on the war, illegal immigration is a burden that I do not want to bear.
-edit-
gailforce_wind, didn't you know Bush cooked it up late one night with all his cronies while uttering a cynical laugh..... |

You're question is based upon a faulty assumption. No one with an IQ above room temperature believes Bush or anyone else wants to get rid of immigrants. The fact of the matter is we (most Americans) want immigrants to come here LEGALLY and OBEY the law like everyone is expected to to.
Native Americans as you use the term are not "native" to this land anymore than I am by the way, they came here in waves of immigration just like the rest of us. |

It's not going to happen. Immigration will always be there, legal or illegal. Who cares? It's not that big of a deal.
But yes, you are right. Native Americans have thought that for years. And what have we done? Taken their country and herded them into reservations. It's sad, but true. They should be given more. |
|

no because most of us are legal, why should we go back when we did things the right way |

You and the people that have answered your ignorant question are idiots. You obviously have no clue about the issue, because if you did, you would know that Bush SUPPORTS amnesty or at the very least a guest worker program.
To your little pea brain, that would be the opposite of your stupid question. At least if you are going to discuss this, don't be a drooling moron. |

i was born here... so that makes me not an immigrant. why do people keep using that argument? |

A land created from the murder and oppression of the native people, a economy grown from slavery and immigrants, and an anglo majority that think it can bully its way around the world - bush is a total waste of a decent job
he should appreciate the legacy of immigration rather than demonise it |

According to the newspaper on my planet, George Bush, even though I did not vote for him, has NOT SAID he wants to get rid of immigrants. His sister-in-law is a Mexican woman, so I figure Dubya is a bit more understanding than you seem to be.
And yes, I think native Americans would love it if we all went back to where our ancstors came from, but then who would gamble at the Indian reservations? |
