So, i have friends that wont have oppurtunities after high school. But i heard that that could get legalized?

If they are here illegally,good grades won't mean a thing. If they are living here illegally,they cannot change their status without leaving the country.
The only chance they have to fix their situation is to return to their home country before they turn 18 1/2. If they do,their illegal presence here will not be held against them because they are a minor. Once they return home,they can apply to come back using a student visa or being petitioned by a legal family member already here.
If they do not return prior to turning 18 1/2,they are then making the decision to remain here illegally as an adult and can be deported and banned from returning if caught. |

No, you can't get a green card with good high school grades. If you want to apply as a skilled worker, you need to have a degree for sponsorship or a special skill that is needed in the US. Employment-based green cards are given to people who have a skill that most Americans don't and that's why it is worth hiring them. Plus you will only qualify for the diversity green card lottery with a high school diploma if you are from a country that is eligible at all. |

If your friends with the good grades do not have green cards now, being on the honor roll will not get them green cards. If they are illegally in the U.S., they will not gain green cards by being good students.
However, a good education in the U.S. is something that thousands of foreign students try for every year. Thousands of foreign students come to the U.S. with visas to receive an education. Then the return to their home countries.
Your friends can do the same thing. They can benefit from a U.S. education, and return to their home country where they will have an edge on those people who never received the same type of education. They will have opportunities, but the opportunities will not be in the U.S. |
