they can if in possession of green card and can pass the civil service test however the postal service does give preference to all vets and specially disabled ones |

I know somebody who was not a citizen and worked sorting mails. But it was a temporary holiday season job. Not sure if rules are different for permanent job. |

Yes but it is very difficult. The US postal service gives an extremely high preference to US Veterans and it is so much that it's almost impossible to work there unless you are a veteran. |
