85. I think the INS question is a little unfair. How am I to know that?

crazzijimsmith
i missed one question

Lev8mysoul
Sadly, there are a very few US citizens who graduated from high school in the recent 10 yrs or so who can pass the test on the Douglas link you listed, especially since the Constitution and civics are seldom taught in our high schools anymore.

I did take those courses in school as required subjects in my day. I got 95% on the MSNBC test, got the naturalization one wrong, but since I'm a US citizen, why should I have had to know that one anyway.

Most people can pass any test if they prepare for it.

Vladblutsauger
I win.

Most of those were things an immigrant should reasonably be expected to know before entering the US, don't you think? Or do you really think the test is unfair?

smartazz_citizen
This quiz though is no big deal.....the real test is much more comprehensive....I am a natural citizen...

You answered 100% of questions correctly. Here's your rating:

0-20%: Maybe you're still thinking too much about the Old Country.

25-40%: Mmmm. Do you really want to be a citizen? This kind of performance isn't going to impress those nice immigration folks.

45-60%: Not too bad, but you really need to break out the civics books again -- word is, the INS is looking for an 80 percent score.

65-80%: Hey, you may make a good citizen yet! Look at your wrong answers and a little revision should do the trick.

85-100%: Welcome to the United States! (And, truth be told, you know more about this great land than most Americans.)

Scroll down to see answers for each question. Also, please let us know what you think about the quiz. The feedback is appreciated.

I am a citizen by birth, I do not have to take any tests...but, of course, if I were to want to live in a foreign land, I would be required to take their tests, and pass in order to be considered for citizenship... Which, if I were to prefer to live there, would be no more than right, huh ???

The actual point is that if citizens are allowed to study for such a test, they would be able to pass that citizenship test and well, and in fact, something far large. And if you look yet more, some of the folks, if allowed to study, (27% or so) would be able to provide very sophisticated answers to those questions.

Our minds are a reference bin. Each country does things differently, and the point of doing it this way is to enable the new citizen to reference significant social history, and made their own judgments about that new issue related to the old issue.

Perhaps not perfect... common to the democracies. Mall snap answers? No.

I would also point out that living in todays world is very complicated. Most folks have to work on that end of life rather than remembering the dates of the revolution in this country.

My major was Social Sciences on my first degrees and I did very well.

100% why do you ask? Every American should be able to answer every one except maybe the form for naturalization.

In my defence,I'm a stupid High School drop out with a low IQ

NSA
100%, of course! Fairly simple test though

I am an American citizen and do not have to take the test.

My family was here before this was a country. We fought to make it a country.
