Like I said, since you're already 16, it's too late to benefit from an adoption by a US citizen. Actually, it was too late some time ago, since you're not an orphan generally available for adoption, the American would have to have custody of you for 2 years before you would be eligible to benefit under US immigration law. As for getting married, assuming that actually happened while you're 16, you would be eligible for a green card, but you'd have to be in the US for 3 years before you could qualify for citizenship.

If your adoptive parent is a U.S. citizen then they will probably be able to apply for citizenship on your behalf if you are already living in the USA with them. But if you are living abroad and already married your husband will probably not be able to sponsor you until he reaches the age of 21. Your husband cannot adopt you. :-)
