Can i travel if my passport expires in 3 months?

I have to book a last minute flight to the UK and I just realised that my passport expires in June. I am a British citizen and also a US green card holder, so I shouldn't have a problem traveling. However, somebody told me that you are not allowed to travel to certain countries if your passport expires in 3-6 months. Is the UK one of these countries?

also, can i re-enter the US after a week in the UK? Since my passport will be less than 3 months left to expire at that point

Citizens can travel to their homeland anytime even a day before expiring their passport. So if u are British citizen & going back to UK, u can travel back home, as far as ur passport is valid on the day u'd be entering UK.

Of course you can. You can go to the UK on the day your passport expires and you can come back to the US on that day also.
